AFTEREFFECTS [Tell me about your fears]

Posted by Sqeezy - September 24th, 2008

It's been a good week since I started on my LSD-DMT followup.
I updated and finished the soundtrack
and for the next week I want to build up a big library full of animations for later use.

So what I thought is, I want to involve ideas and fears of others, I want to know what would seriously freak you out,
it can be an idea, a scene, an object, an atmosphere.
It will probably pop up in a subliminal way.
Don't be freaked out by the idea that I wanna rip you off. I just want to know what you'd like to see in a movie that is meant to turn out really freaky and disturbing.

I won't spoil much more at this point of time.
Just be sure to look forward to it
and Tom go set the prizemoney really high so I can move to the US after finishing this movie.
Also: Hire me.

The black walls around me start closing in and the blackness starts to engulf my body and swallow me up. My screams can be heard from miles away.

Long empty corridors. Nothing is more scary than that

I found myself in some sort of big metal building with a couple of friends that I didn't recognize. We walked up to a glass elevator and waited. The doors opened and no one moved. My cat walked into the elevator, but the elevator doors closed onto his tail before he had completely entered. Apparently the edges of the doors were razor sharp and had cut the cat's tail clean off. We watched silently horrified as it curled up crying out in pain. The ground shook as the elevator began to rise up into the ceiling. However, the ceiling of the elevator didn't move at all, which began to slowly crush my poor cat.

The cat squealed in pain as we heard its bones crack and split. We retreated behind a corner not wanting to watch the terrifying event. Its screams of pain continued longer than I had expected. I peeked around the corner to see if anything had happened, and as soon as I looked up towards the cat, its bowels ruptured and I watched its blood spray with tremendous pressure. The glass of the elevator was soaked crimson as well as the ceiling above. The last thing I remember in this sickening dream is feeling the cat's blood splash onto my left cheek. I actually felt a cold chill there when I awoke.

tldr

Im scared of my own incredible power and charisma.

There is something about the seemingly inifite power of the human brain and intellect itself that will sometimes frighten me.

Alot of the horror short stories I've written have been influenced in terms of plot and themes by the idea that our brains can do the worst things to us, not outside forces.

Yes yes ogm. That is just what the movie is about actually.
everything is happening in his brain, he's basically blind anyways, but his mind got damaged from the movie 2 years ago.
So yeah, it focuses alot on what theoretically cannn happen in reality.

no zombies, trick or threatin nor pumpkins for me this halloween, NG.

one image i thought up and was gonna animate myself, but since your skills are much greater ill let you do it, im standing in a room with a weird creature, pretty far away. its got big buggy eyes and looks pretty beat up, seems to have trouble breathing, then in an instant its got me pinned to the ground face to face and it starts tearing the skin from its face and keeps going right down and tears bits of skull and digs until it just drops limp ontop of me. also i picture it sort of squeeling/screaming.
i would love to see it in action, hope you like it.

i may find a spot for this. niceness sir.

Simple things, like figures in corners of rooms, being stuck underwater, sounds that seem to come from nowhere. Stuff like that. Often people over think what a scary image would be. Taking simple things and twisting them can be horrifying if done properly. The imagery is only as important as the feeling it evokes, like being trapped or alone or in danger. The feeling that something is imminent is also good, and successfully fooling the viewer as to when something actually happens is also important. Predictability is a no go. And, lastly, keep everything grounded in reality, no matter how surreal it gets. It's hard to be scared of something that's too far fetched.

/endrant

I keep having re-occuring nightmares of two things,

I'm looking at a mirror, and my face is shifting its shape and position of the eyes, mount, etc., i try to scream, but nobody can hear me, i curl into a ball and wake up.

the other is im trapped in a car, going at a high speed down a hill, i dont know how to drive, and right before i crash i wake up.

whateverr

A man falling down a flight of stairs and then spotting a ladybug. Then, ladybugs crawl out his mouth and his eyes and ears and etc. Then zoom in on his brain and show them
devouring it as it pumps and bleeds.

I'm afraid of dem ladybugs.

the fear of pain.
like when you know you're about to feel pain, but it hasn't happened yet. that build up.
the doctor is bringing the syringe towards your arm
the dentist is bringing the drill towards your mouth
the wasp is bringing itself towards your face

i think i fear death the most
not death itself, but the aftermath
we dont know what happens after death, but its pretty good bet that we just disappear

we cease to be.

that scares me. becoming nothing. and not even being able to be afraid of being nothing, because nothing it there.

just gone.
that scares me more than anything. nothing.

buried alive, not being able to move at all... the usual.
i shall be anticipating your movie.

A man who's obsessed with the cracking sound when he picks on animal claws, the sound to him is soothing, he grabs the cat by the legs, puts his dirty nails on the claw *crack* he goes for another picks and *craaaaaaack* He cracks them in his fingers and bites down on them with his teeth. He puts the animals claw in his mouth and pulls *craaaaaaaaaaaaaaack* as he tears it form the flesh holding it and blood seeps out.

Ok that make sme think I have a sick mind.....

The sound of me going deaf.

I'm phobic about spiders ....>.>;

You should try to make the user feel that feeling, where your watching yourself do something you have no control over... that kind of nightmarish dream state where you can't do what you want.

Anything with the achilles tendon... ugh the idea of it shooting into my calf after being severed or snapping just sounds like the worst sensation ever period.

static noise... wierd but theres something like disturbing about the uncertainty of it... like the fact you cant make anything out of it and your brain wants to... i remember finding the very first silent hill to make very paranoid... like that sound that would come on when you are wandering outside in the fog... the radio static ... there was something unsettling about not being able to pinpoint anything visual to the sound that would progressively get louder and softer.

In a dream, i went to kissed the girl that i love, and she pushed me away.
That is the scariest thing.
